The program will also feature themes from Federico Fellini's films and a vocal tribute from "Romeo and Juliet." Familiar themes by Nino Rota from the legendary trilogy will be performed by the Kremlin Wind Orchestra under the direction of Igor Shevernev. A highlight of the evening is the combination of live sound with fragments of Francis Ford Coppola's film "The Godfather" on the big screen. Before the performance begins, musicians will enter the hall with saxophones, trumpets, and trombones, stylizing the space to resemble America in the 1940s. Elena and Fabrizio D'Agostino from Monaco will perform tango among the audience. The dance will support the drama of the concert - passion, risk, and beauty are conveyed through movement as clearly as through orchestral timbres. The soloist of the evening will be Vera Kononova, a lyric-dramatic soprano. In the finale, five themes by Rota from Federico Fellini's films will be performed, including music from "Nights of Cabiria," "Sweet Life," "Eight and a Half," and "The Road," followed by a vocal tribute from "Romeo and Juliet."
