The Symphony Orchestra "Northern Symphony" presents a program dedicated to two large-scale works of the Russian musical tradition. The focus is on the beauty of symphonic forms and the mastery of the ensemble. At the heart of the program are two major symphonic works created by Aram Khachaturian and Sergei Rachmaninoff. They are distinguished by their scope, depth of musical imagery, and attention to the expressiveness of orchestral sound. The first piece is a large-scale work by Khachaturian, known for its bell-like sound and the combination of dramatic episodes with bright lyrical themes. The second part of the program addresses the famous symphony by Rachmaninoff. It features contrasts between tense climaxes and poignant melodic lines, creating a sense of inner movement and reflection. The music will be presented by the Symphony Orchestra "Northern Symphony" of the Saint Petersburg State Musical Theater named after Chaliapin. The ensemble was established in 2016 and is now considered one of the prominent orchestras in Petersburg. Its repertoire includes music from various eras and styles - from works by Russian and foreign classics to pieces by contemporary authors. Find other events in Saint Petersburg on KUDAGO.
