In this evening, Beethoven is revealed from two sides: through the "Kreutzer" sonata in a rare version for violin and string orchestra and through the music of the ballet "Prometheus's Creatures". The program combines virtuosity, dramatic impulse, and clear beauty of form, allowing the familiar composer to be heard in an unusual and very vibrant perspective. There are programs that are particularly good at allowing a look at a well-known composer from a slightly different angle. This is such a case. At the center of the evening is Beethoven's music, but it is assembled in a way that showcases both the internal energy and the plasticity of musical thought, as well as the ability to work equally well in both chamber and stage genres. On one side is the famous Ninth Sonata for violin and piano, known as the "Kreutzer", in a transcription for violin and string orchestra by Richard Tonetti. On the other side is the ballet "Prometheus's Creatures, or The Power of Music and Dance". This combination makes the evening particularly substantial. The "Kreutzer Sonata" has long lived in concert practice as a work of great tension, sharp contrasts, and almost symphonic scale. In the orchestral version, these qualities are revealed anew: the familiar dialogue between violin and piano transforms into a more spacious environment, where the solo instrument leads a conversation with the string ensemble. For the listener, this is a chance to hear well-known music with fresh ears, to notice new colors, and to feel the dramaturgy of Beethoven's form in a different way. The second part of the program shifts attention to the ballet "Prometheus's Creatures". This music is less often heard in posters, although it clearly conveys both theatrical mobility and clarity of lines, as well as the bright impulse that is so important for Beethoven. Next to the "Kreutzer Sonata", such a piece works especially interestingly: after a tense expression, space opens up for elegance, movement, and a different internal intonation. The State Academic Chamber Orchestra of Russia, Fyodor Beznosikov, and Pavel Milyukov will take the stage. This ensemble is particularly fitting.
