Performed by viola and piano, works from different eras will be presented. The concert program is structured from Baroque to 20th-century music. It will open with Bach: Adagio and Allegro from Sonata No. 1 for solo violin, arranged for viola. Classicism will be represented by Joseph Haydn's piano sonata in E-flat major with a minuet. Then, the program will feature the rhapsody by Bohuslav Martinů, prelude and fugue by Viktor Poltoratsky, Tempestoso-Largo by Ottorino Respighi from "Three Preludes on Gregorian Melodies," and the third movement of Hindemith's sonata for solo viola. The program will conclude with César Franck's sonata for violin and piano, where the violin part will be played by the viola.
