This evening connects the Italian musical tradition with Gogol's Roman impressions. Ancient arias, opera arias, romances, and Neapolitan songs will be performed, creating a vibrant journey through several centuries of European culture. This concert is conceived as a musical journey through Italy, seen through the cultural memory of the 19th century and Nikolai Gogol's personal impressions. At the center of the evening is Rome, a city of artistic revelations, strong impressions, and inner concentration. The program is structured as a sequence of vivid images, contrasts, and intonations, where baroque sophistication coexists with opera and chamber music. The evening unites ancient arias, classical romances, arias from operas, and Neapolitan songs, with the circle of authors spanning four centuries of Italian musical culture: works by Alessandro Scarlatti, Antonio Vivaldi, Vincenzo Bellini, Giuseppe Verdi, Giacomo Puccini, and other composers will be performed. The program will be performed by Ruslan Bogatyrev (lyric-dramatic tenor), Ekaterina Bukharova (lyric soprano), Elena Novozhilova (piano).
