The concert is built on a strong and rather rare comparison. In one program, there are two works addressing evangelical events, but speaking about them in completely different musical languages. On one side is Haydn with his precise form, noble restraint, and desire to hold the listener's attention within a prolonged slow movement. On the other side is Vladimir Martynov, for whom repetition, minimal change, and focus on a single sound gesture become a way to reflect on faith, memory, and human perception. Such proximity makes the evening especially valuable for listeners who are interested in academic music not as a museum exhibit, but as a living thought. Here one can hear how the same theme is revealed through opposing artistic approaches: ideal classicism and minimalism, strict architecture and almost meditative movement of sound. In this comparison, there is no formal contrast for the sake of effect. On the contrary, both scores begin to engage in a serious conversation with each other, and it is in this dialogue that the main impression of the evening is born.
