This concert is built on a subtle play of consonances, parallels, and musical echoes. In one program, Mozart, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Pärt, Desyatnikov, and John Williams come together, while two violinists and a pianist engage in a conversation where virtuosity merges with rare thoughtfulness of form and vibrant emotional tension. Sometimes the concert program works as a cohesive narrative, where the pieces resonate with each other, argue, reflect, and gradually lead the listener to a powerful final point. This is exactly how this evening from the series "Listen!" is structured, for which Alexey Goribol devised a special form. The program is based on the principle of pairing: two sonatas by Mozart, two cycles by Shostakovich and Prokofiev, two compositions by Arvo Pärt, two masterpieces of film music, and then a major climax in the form of the Sonata in C major for two violins and piano by Sergei Prokofiev. Thanks to this construction, the concert is perceived not as a collection of separate numbers, but as a finely crafted dramaturgy.
