Boulez, Berio, Theodorakis, and the world premiere of Raevaya's composition come together in a program where strict thought, orchestral freedom, and rare timbres create a tense, vibrant, and unpredictable sound. The "Another Space" cycle has long been perceived as a territory of musical risk, where listeners are invited to step beyond the usual concert route. This time, the Russian National Orchestra under the direction of Dmitry Yurovsky assembles a program that combines iconic names from the 20th-century musical avant-garde, rare repertoire, and a world premiere. Such an evening is aimed at an audience that wants to hear how academic music speaks the language of timbre, structure, energy, and internal tension. The program includes Pierre Boulez's Livre pour cordes, a composition in which the orchestral fabric seems to be constantly changing and constructs a new logic of sound right before the listeners' eyes. Alongside it is Chemins III by Luciano Berio for viola, nine instruments, and orchestra, where the solo part becomes the center of a complex musical movement. Violist Sergey Poltavsky here acts as a guide through a rich and multilayered sound space that demands maximum concentration from both the musicians and the audience. Particular attention is drawn to the world premiere - "Seraphim" by Alexandra Raevaya for saxophone and orchestra.
