About

The concert unites works by composers from different eras, finding new sound in the performance of the State Academic Symphony Orchestra of Russia named after E. F. Svetlanov. A moment of rare significance - the world premiere of the reconstruction of a work by Gavriil Popov, complemented by vibrant scores by Ades and Filidei, creating a tangible depth of musical dialogue. The concert program is built around compositions that reveal different layers of the academic tradition and show how musical thought changes under the influence of time, circumstances, and creative search. The evening opens with a piece by Gavriil Popov - a large-scale work that has reached listeners in a reconstruction by V. Voronov. Its premiere becomes an important moment not only for connoisseurs of music history but also for those who turn to rare repertoire that allows for a glimpse into the complex paths of a composer's biography. The performers create a holistic view of the program. The conductor's part is led by Philip Chizhevsky, known for his attentive approach to the structure of the work and his subtle sense of dramaturgy. The violin line is performed by Dmitry Smirnov, the cello line by Boris Andrianov, and the piano is entrusted to Mikhail Turpanov. Their interaction allows us to hear how three different timbres reveal the composers' intentions, creating a genuine multilayered sound. The central block of the evening is the composition by Thomas Ades "Lieux Retrouvés", created for cello and chamber orchestra. In this work, the sense of inner movement, the change of emotional states, and the special contrast between the melodic line and orchestral texture are important. The final part of the program is formed by "Tre quadri" by Filidei - a piece for piano and orchestra, in which the lively impulses of the modern composer's school and attention to the plasticity of sound can be heard.
