The evening will take place under the arches of one of the most impressive historical spaces in the city and will be dedicated to jazz from the first half of the 20th century. The Chigadaev Big Band will perform works by George Gershwin, Irving Berlin, Sigmund Romberg, and Jerome Kern - composers who defined the sound of the era. Their music will convey the atmosphere of Broadway, the rhythm of the big city, and the mood of the time when jazz became the voice of a whole generation. Chigadaev Big Band is a project of St. Petersburg pianist and composer Stanislav Chigadaev. The group's concerts are a spectacular musical show with bright solos, improvisation, and the powerful energy of a large orchestra. The ensemble consists of leading jazz musicians from St. Petersburg, distinguished by their fine taste and high level of performance. Over the years, the ensemble has performed at major festivals and iconic stages, including the Grand Hall of the Philharmonic, the Hermitage Theater, and the New Stage of the Alexandrinsky Theater. The project leader is a virtuoso of classical and jazz piano, a laureate of prestigious competitions, a conservatory teacher, who has collaborated with global stars and symphony orchestras in Russia and abroad.
