The concert of classical music in the chamber hall brings together two recognizable cycles by Tchaikovsky and Mussorgsky, transforming them into living musical stories. Piano and voice will gradually illustrate the change of seasons and the child's world, full of observations, feelings, subtle moods, and quiet drama. Such an evening is memorable for its attention to nuances. In the White Hall of the library, listeners are offered a special format for getting acquainted with academic music from the late 19th century. In one evening, two contrasting cycles are combined - the lyrical piano collection "The Seasons" by Pyotr Tchaikovsky and the vocal cycle "Children's Songs" by Modest Mussorgsky. Together, they create a gallery of musical images, where the adult listener recalls their own childhood, while teenagers discover the lively sound of familiar names from textbooks. Each of the twelve pieces in Tchaikovsky's piano cycle is associated with a month and a short poetic epigraph. In the miniatures, one can hear the sounds of winter evenings, the silence of walks, and the noise of summer days. In the intimate space of the library, these pages resonate particularly closely - as if they are diary entries in which the composer captures the change of light, the rhythm of everyday life, and the subtle movements of mood. This interpretation helps to see in familiar music not an illustration of a calendar, but a story of a person with their hopes. Mussorgsky's vocal cycle creates a different perspective. At its center is a child with their logic, fears, whims, and sudden flashes of imagination. Each miniature shows a separate episode: a conversation with a nanny, play, fright, a setting for yet another fantasy. The singer and pianist work as partners in a small musical performance, where the voice conveys lively intonations, and the piano suggests emotional shades, from funny to alarming. The listener easily recognizes familiar reactions and seems to eavesdrop on childhood confessions. At the piano will be Ivan Fyodorov, a laureate of international competitions and associate professor at the A.I. Herzen Russian State Pedagogical University.
