Performers on the bayan and accordion will present solo pieces, duets, and trios. The bayan and accordion are bright soloists and ensemble participants. This program showcases their capabilities - from solo performances to ensembles where a small domra joins the bayan and accordion. The concert features the duo "Fusion": teacher at the Gnessin Academy Nikita Ukrainets (bayan) and teacher at the Shostakovich Music School Ilona Savina (accordion). They will be joined by students from the Gnessin Academy: Alexey Kostin, Maria Zotova, Anastasia Grevtseva, Daniil Mazurov, and Maria Krivensheva. The program is built on contrasts. Works will include the Fantasy for Organ in G Major by Johann Sebastian Bach, the third movement of Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" by Antonín Dvořák, sonatas by Domenico Scarlatti, compositions by Vyacheslav Semyonov, Alexander Kusiakov, Vladimir Zolotaryov, excerpts from George Gershwin's opera "Porgy and Bess," and other pieces. Thanks to the diverse repertoire, listeners will be able to appreciate the virtuosity, plasticity of sound, and the wide range of emotions available to the bayan and accordion.
