The music of Johann Sebastian Bach and his contemporaries will be performed as it sounded during their lifetime. Use the promo code KUDAGO and get a 20% discount on tickets.* On this evening, Bach's music will be accompanied by works of German composers who were active at the same time and were outstanding figures of the Baroque era. This includes Bach's older contemporary Georg Philipp Telemann, his peer Georg Friedrich Handel, and his student Johann Philipp Kirnberger. The only one among them whom Bach did not meet personally was Handel, but he highly valued his music. In the walls of the cathedral, instruments played at the end of the 17th century and the first half of the 18th century will be heard, including viola da gamba, harpsichord, and positive organ. The ensemble "NeoBarocco" will take the stage, with Mila Frayonova (soprano), Olga Filippova (harpsichord), Ekaterina Tugarinova (flute), and Rust Poziumsky (viola da gamba) also participating.
