A concert in the format of a musical duel, which was incredibly popular in Europe in the 17th to 19th centuries. Johann Sebastian Bach lived in the 18th century in Germany and never left his homeland. Pyotr Tchaikovsky was a Russian composer of the 19th century, who created during the Romantic era. On this evening, the works of two geniuses will meet in the cathedral and will be performed in a competitive format: Bach's organ compositions and Tchaikovsky's piano pieces will alternate. Of course, the performers do not intend to seriously determine who is the better composer, as their music is different as much as it is genius. Nevertheless, there will be a winner in this competition, and that is the listener. You surely haven't heard so much beautiful music in one evening for a long time. The performers are leading musicians from St. Petersburg, laureates of international competitions, soloists, and guest musicians of the Mariinsky Theatre and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic.
