In the space of Petrikirche - another round of the musical duel from the series "Battle of the Keyboards: Organ and Piano". This time, the organizers are staging a unique confrontation between the works of Johann Sebastian Bach and Ludwig van Beethoven. The organ compositions of Johann Sebastian Bach largely determined the course of the formation and development of the world musical heritage for centuries to come. In turn, the energy and creative genius of Ludwig van Beethoven shook the 19th century and gave a boost to the rise of piano music to an unprecedented level. The works of these two outstanding composers, who are almost nothing alike, will be performed as part of a thematic concert organized by "Amadeus" within the walls of Petrikirche. Two instruments will be featured on stage: the organ and the piano. The winner of the composer battle, according to the rules of traditional European musical duels, will be determined by the audience, although there can be no losers in such a duel of musical masterpieces by default. Performers - leading musicians from St. Petersburg, laureates of international competitions, soloists and guest musicians from the Mariinsky Theatre and the St. Petersburg Philharmonic. Duration of the concert: 1 hour without intermission. Photo: provided by the organizer.
