About

Female throat singing, morin khuur, and vargan - a rare combination that sounds like a conversation with the winds of the steppes. Buryat singer Aryuna Nimaeva combines ancient techniques with a live ensemble, where flute and saxophone, piano and Indian rhythms meet - and the music becomes a path to the roots. Subtle timbres catch the ear from the very first seconds. When female throat singing resonates in the concert hall, conventional notions of vocals cease to apply. The voice becomes an instrument capable of whispering, humming, and shimmering with overtones, as if the wind and a distant road can be heard nearby. In this program, Buryat singer Aryuna Nimaeva merges the traditions of her region with modern stage sound. At the center of attention is the rare technique of female throat singing, supported by the timbres of morin khuur, limba, and vargan: the stringed voice of the steppes, delicate whistling shades, and metallic shimmer reminiscent of nature's sounds. Alongside her is the ensemble "Eastern Mosaic": Kamilla Norova (piano), Mikhail Shipov (flute, saxophone), Denis Kucherov (tabla, hang, cajón, frame drum). The result is a lively conversation between East and West, where steppe melodies meet Indian rhythms, and the breath of wind instruments adds volume and movement. Aryuna Nimaeva is known as a guardian of Buryat musical traditions, playing the morin khuur and vargan, and performing in the genre of ethnic music. She was a finalist in the TV project "Star-2025" on the channel "Star", and her experience on the big stage is evident in the precision of nuances and the coherence of her presentation. If you love world music, are interested in cultural roots, and appreciate rare instruments, the evening will provide plenty of material for the ear and memory. It is also suitable for those who are just starting to explore ethnicity: clear dramaturgy, distinct timbral contrasts, and a strong vocal center hold attention.
