For several days, Red Square will transform into one large bookstore, concert hall, and literary café simultaneously - all with free entry. Under the tents, there will be stands from more than 400 publishers from across the country: fiction, children's books, non-fiction, comics, and regional publications that cannot be found in Moscow stores. At GUM, there’s a separate story: antiquarians, booksellers, and museum publishers with items that are simply nice to hold. Books here are cheaper than in stores. The festival opens with the chamber ensemble "Soloists of Moscow" with a program celebrating the 120th anniversary of Shostakovich - at the piano, Ekaterina Mechetina, and the artistic word is read by Polina Agureeva. Following this, there will be about 800 events across one and a half dozen venues: meetings with Evgeny Vodolazkin, Marina Stepnova, Daria Dontsova, and dozens of other writers, autograph sessions, lectures, and theatrical performances. On stage will be Victoria Isakova, Svetlana Kryuchkova, pianists Boris Berezovsky and Alexey Goribol.
