Everything you wanted to know about manga but didn't know where to ask. Manga is a whole cultural world that combines visual and narrative traditions of Asia. The RGBM library regularly hosts meetings of the reading club "Right to Left," dedicated to manga, manhwa, and other directions of Asian comic art. This time, the focus is on Inio Asano's work "Goodnight, Punpun," one of the most striking and ambiguous works in contemporary Japanese manga. The event combines elements of a lecture and informal communication. Guests will be able to discuss what they have read, share impressions, ask questions, and learn more about the genre-specific features of Japanese comics. There will be an opportunity to delve into the nuances of narrative, style, and cultural references, as well as to make new acquaintances among genre enthusiasts. The club is led by Naya Zubakova, an artist and employee of the Hall of Fine Literature and Art at RGBM. The meeting will be interesting for both avid manga fans and those who are just starting to get acquainted with this direction.
