About

Table reservations from 6 pm | Live Music: 8.30pm “Exceptional voice and unique and soulful artistry...” - Blackburn International Nate Simpson has played Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder and Berry Gordy in Motown the Musical in the West End, Simba in The Lion King in Paris and Young Bob Marley in Get Up, Stand Up! at the Lyric Theatre. He has performed at Ronnie Scott's, the London Jazz Festival and the Natural History Museum, earned BBC Introducing support, appeared on national television and radio, and shared stages with Beverley Knight, Jessie J, Boy George and Jacob Collier. The West End background is not incidental, it means the performance is built around the voice and the song rather than spectacle. Kings of Soul is his own show, a live band set drawing from the catalogue of artists who defined soul music across three decades: Marvin Gaye, Stevie Wonder, Luther Vandross, Al Green, Lionel Richie, George Benson, Earth Wind and Fire and The Four Tops. The choice of repertoire is deliberate and the sequencing matters. These are not standalone hits dropped into a medley but songs chosen for how they sit together and what they ask of a vocalist. Expect a full live band and a set that moves between ballad and groove without losing the thread. Simpson has the range and the stage experience to carry this repertoire properly. The room will confirm it. Visit our Hine Bar and Heated Garden Terrace located on the 1st floor for pre & post-show drinks! *Subject to availability Subscribe here to Boisdale's weekly newsletter.
