Concerts of carillon music will take place in the Peter and Paul Fortress outdoors. The Cathedral Square will feature works created specifically for this rare instrument, as well as academic and folk music arranged for bells. The Cathedral Square of the Peter and Paul Fortress will transform into an open musical venue, where the main character will be the carillon - an instrument with a unique spatial sound. Its voice is inseparable from the architecture and urban air: the bell chimes spread over the square and change the usual perception of the fortress. The program includes music written for the carillon, as well as well-known classical and folk melodies in special arrangements. Performers associated with the Department of Organ, Harpsichord, and Carillon of SPbGU will perform on the instrument: students, graduates, and established musicians who continue to develop the carillon tradition in the city.
