How do birds of prey spot their prey from great heights, remain at the top of the food chain, and why are even the strongest feathered hunters vulnerable to humans? Children will learn about the lives of flying predators, peek into rare books, participate in games, and create crafts. The team from the eco-center "Losiny Ostrov" will explain how the vision, flight, and hunting behavior of winged predators are structured. Kids will learn about the largest eagle and the fastest falcon, compare different birds, and find out how each has adapted to its environment. A separate part of the workshop is dedicated to the vulnerability of birds. Even a predator armed with claws and a beak depends on the preservation of forests, open spaces, and food sources. The session will help illustrate how human activity impacts birds. The material is aimed at children aged 6 to 12. There will be opportunities to ask questions, participate in discussions, and the game will help reinforce new knowledge. The kids will also see rare books about birds from the collection of the Russian State Library for Youth. At the end, participants will create a craft as a keepsake, turning new information into a creative work.
