About

The tales "The Caliph Stork" and "Little Muck" will be presented with commentary in Russian sign language. The tales of Wilhelm Hauff combine adventure, mystery, and gentle moral lessons. Participants in the meeting will turn to the stories "The Caliph Stork" and "Little Muck," which were included in the "Almanac of Tales for the Year 1826 for the Sons and Daughters of the Noble Classes." These works connect Eastern motifs, German folklore tradition, and parable. The format of the meeting is a commented reading in Russian sign language. Listeners will get acquainted with the characters, discuss the actions of the characters, analyze the magical elements, and try to understand why Hauff's tales captured the imagination of children as far back as the 19th century and remain relevant today. The session will be especially useful for those interested in literature, reading culture, Russian sign language, and inclusive educational formats. For deaf children and teenagers, reading tales helps to broaden horizons, increase vocabulary, and develop emotional intelligence. The meeting will be conducted by Nadezhda Chaushyan - psychologist at the NGO "House of the Deaf." On our website, we share information about free events in Moscow.
