What did children of the last century live for, what did they dream about, and what fascinated them? This can be discovered not only through textbooks - in the interactive lecture "Murzilka and Co," real pages of history will come to life. Participants will see authentic children's magazines from the 1920s and 1930s from the collection of the Children's Historical Museum. These publications not only tell about the time - they allow a glimpse into the world through the eyes of young readers from a century ago. Margarita Borisova-Lebedeva, a senior researcher in the museum pedagogy department and chair of the Youth Council of the Museum of Political History of Russia, will discuss how children's subscription magazines were created during the Soviet years, what ideas they conveyed, who their authors were, and how the connection with young readers was established.
