About

During an exciting walk through the luxurious halls of the Hermitage, children and their parents will playfully get acquainted with the history of the palace and learn a lot about visual art and outstanding artists. The tour takes place in a live conversation format with a guide. This approach helps teach children to interact with art and feel comfortable in the museum space. Participants will learn many interesting stories related to the Winter Palace and the museum's collections, and walk through its key locations: the Grand and Small Throne Rooms, the Knight's, Antique, and Egyptian Halls, the Grand Enlightenment, and many others. Together with the guide, the kids will find out: why Peter I did not live in the Winter Palace; how the fire in 1837 could have been avoided and where it started; what the magical "Peacock" clocks symbolize; how much knight's armor weighs; why Hercules stood at the crossroads; what biblical references can be found in the Raphael Loggia. The duration of the tour program is 1.5 hours. The tour is designed for a group of up to 5 people aged 3 and older. To learn more, click the "Sign Up for the Tour" button.
