About

German band Hiraes is a melodic death metal act from Osnabrück, formed in 2020 by four former members of Dawn of Disease together with vocalist Britta Görtz, known from Cripper and Critical Mess. The band consists of Lukas Kerk and Oliver Kirchner on guitars, Christian Wösten on bass, Mathias Blässe on drums, and Görtz on vocals. Her powerful and versatile growls have become one of the band's most distinctive trademarks. Hiraes' music draws clear inspiration from the Scandinavian melodic death metal tradition, while combining it with a modern, tightly produced sound and a dark, melancholic atmosphere. The band's name is derived from the Welsh word hiraeth, which describes a longing for something lost or unattainable, a theme that also runs through the lyrics and mood of their music. In 2024, Hiraes released their second album, Dormant, through Napalm Records. The album was well received and entered the German album charts, further cementing the band's position as one of the strongest emerging names on the European melodic death metal scene. Musically, Hiraes are often compared to bands such as Arch Enemy, Insomnium, and At The Gates, while maintaining a strong focus on memorable melodies, dynamic guitar work, and vocals that are both brutal and nuanced. Standing room only. If tickets are sold out in advance, they will also be sold out at the door. Doors open one hour before the concert. For more information, visit Amager Bio. A limited number of wheelchair-accessible and disabled seating spaces are available, including a free companion ticket for guests holding a valid companion card.
