The Miyazaki Dreams concert is an immersion in the fabulous atmosphere of the films of the world-famous Japanese director and Oscar winner Hayao Miyazaki. Mystery Ensemble has collected magical music from his anime and compositions inspired by his creations. The evening programme includes renowned works composed by ingenious Joe Hisaishi, including My Neighbour Totoro, the legendary anime Spirited Away, Howl’s Moving Castle, Laputa: Castle in the Sky and others. The programme also includes works by other composers inspired by Miyazaki’s artworks. Musical themes will transport viewers into the atmosphere of famous anime stories and introduce brave heroines, magical creatures, and characters inspired by Japanese folklore. About the venue Located in the heart of Bristol, St George’s Bristol is one of the city’s most iconic concert halls, celebrated for its stunning Georgian architecture and exceptional acoustics. Originally built as a church in the 1820s, the venue has since been transformed into a renowned musical landmark, hosting world-class performances across all genres - from classical and film music to contemporary concerts. With its grand yet intimate setting, acoustically optimised hall, and rich historical ambience, St George’s Bristol provides the perfect immersive experience for this dreamy programme.
