On stage is Nikolai Lygovskiy - a professional drummer, composer of music for gongs, and owner of one of the most impressive collections of these instruments in Russia. He has more than forty gongs of various diameters, from compact to huge, which resonate differently: some produce a dense low hum, while others respond with bright overtones. Flat bronze bells created by Alexander Zhikharev are added to the gongs. Their sound is thinner and sharper, cutting through the dense background and illuminating it from within. Together, these instruments create layer upon layer - first cautious impulses, then increasingly broad, enveloping waves that can literally be felt on the skin.
