As Artistic Advisor of the Gümüşlük Music Festival since its foundation, Gülsin Onay has played a central role in shaping the festival’s artistic direction for over two decades, alongside a distinguished international career spanning more than 80 countries and appearances at many of the world’s leading concert halls. She is joined by violinist Erkin Onay, concertmaster of the Ankara State Opera and Ballet and an established figure in orchestral and chamber music performances across Turkey and Europe. Cellist Denis Shapovalov brings an internationally acclaimed career as soloist, conductor, and composer. Winner of the Gold Medal at the XI International Tchaikovsky Competition, he has performed with leading orchestras including the London Symphony Orchestra, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, and St. Petersburg Philharmonic. The program features Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50 - a cornerstone of the chamber music repertoire, which has become a recurring work in the festival’s history. Over the years, it has been performed with different cellists, beginning with Benjamin Sönmez and continuing over the years with a range of distinguished artists. This year, Denis Shapovalov joins Gülsin and Erkin Onay for the 23rd edition finale. Together, the trio performs Tchaikovsky’s Piano Trio in A minor, Op. 50 - closing the 23rd edition of the festival with a work of depth, intensity, and enduring emotional power.
