The program will showcase a key part of French cinema that influenced the development of world cinema and became the foundation for many modern films. The lineup includes films filled with bold plots and an unusual perspective on cinematic language. On July 28, there will be a screening of Agnès Varda's film "Happiness," in which the director questions the concept of harmony in relationships. On August 4, viewers will see "Stolen Kisses" - a comedy in which Antoine Doinel, tasked with a job at a detective agency, resolves a personal issue and begins a romantic relationship. On August 7, the screen will show "The 400 Blows," a film about a troubled teenager who faces loneliness and misunderstanding from those around him. On August 11, "The Outsiders" will be screened, a comedy about two friends consumed by the world of gangster films. The program will conclude on August 13 with "Point-Court," Varda's debut film, which opens up the world of provincial life, focusing on one important moment. All films are screened in their original language with Russian subtitles. Before each screening, a brief introductory lecture will be held by invited experts.
