The piano evening by Andrey Reshetnik is structured as a meeting with two composers of German Romanticism - Schubert and Brahms. In one program, bright melodic clarity, turbulent youthful energy, and late concentration will unite, and the solo performance will allow for the perception of all nuances. Attention will be focused on the music of Franz Schubert and Johannes Brahms - composers united by a deep interest in the inner world of man, yet whose musical languages are structured differently. It is on this comparison that the dramaturgy of the program relies. The evening will open with Schubert's Sonata in A major D. 664. This composition is valued for its clarity of intonation, naturalness of melodic movement, and a special sense of inner light. Following it will be Brahms' Second Sonata in F-sharp minor op. 2 - an early work that already exhibits breadth, tension, and a striving for large form. Audiences will also hear six pieces for piano, op. 118 - a cycle of mature Brahms, which concentrates his late wisdom, inner depth, and rare ability to speak about complex feelings with chamber restraint.
