Webfest 2025's Best Sound Design) Spectral Silhouette Radio Show is coming to Fitzgeralds Nightclub on October 1st! What is the Spectral Silhouette? It's one part mystery audio drama, one part musical, all parts uh equal parts um private parts whatever, it's hilarious! Featuring a full jazz band, an original script and songs, and a twenty-person cast and crew, The Spectral Silhouette is an ambitious production from the Chicagoland area that recreates the magic of pulpy old-time radio shows like The Shadow and blends that stereo stardust with modern sensibilities and humor. You'll laugh! You'll chuckle! You'll guffaw! So, what's it about? Well, a clever but somewhat bumbling detective named Monty Eldritch is shot during an armed robbery. Legally dead for five minutes, he shakes the cold grip of the Grim Reaper with the aid of medical professionals. When he regains consciousness, he finds that he can hear the voice of a deceased mobster named Sil. The two agree to work together to find Sil's murderers in exchange for assistance with Monty's cases. Aided by his trigger-happy partner, Penny Aster, and otherworldly insights from his ghostly ally, Monty becomes the Spectral Silhouette. Sponsored by Skeleton Key Brewery in Woodridge, Illinois, Silhouette started as a one-off production that grew in size and popularity over the years due to word of mouth. One show a month turned into three sold-out monthly performances, eventually leading to theater debuts around the Midwest and awards from festivals nationwide-and a few international ones, too. As of 2026, the show is in its fifth year of sarcastic ghosts, despicable crooks, and randy mediums, and there's no better way to celebrate this quinquennium (that's a word, right?) milestone than with an exclusive performance at the legendary Fitzgeralds Nightclub!
