As the saying goes: "We say goodbye to Maslenitsa - we open the way for spring." And to welcome warmth and sunshine sooner, winter must be sent off with a bang! In Moscow, the farewell to the cold will be cheerful: guests can expect exciting craft workshops, competitions, performances based on folk tales, and of course, fluffy, golden pancakes. With the arrival of winter, we are thrilled by the first snowfall, but after the New Year, we usually start to feel a bit weary. We crave sunshine, warmth, and a spring mood. All these expectations will come true, but first, we must bid farewell to winter at the "Moscow Maslenitsa" festival! Venues The farewell to winter takes place at more than 30 festival venues of the "Moscow Seasons". Here we will participate in folk games and sports competitions, dance in circles, stroll through markets, watch heroic tournaments, performances, and musical shows. In 2026, the main festivities will take place on Tverskoy Boulevard. Concerts by orchestras, theatrical performances, competitions, and a fair of domestic brands are just some of what awaits us at this location. On weekdays, the venues in the center and districts operate from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM, on weekends and holidays - from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM (in the districts) and until 10:00 PM (in the center). Pancake Tastings The main symbol of Maslenitsa is, of course, pancakes. We will taste the traditional dish all over Moscow! The gastronomic part of the festival is extensive, with Muscovites expecting more than 50 types of pancakes and 200 options for fillings and toppings. But the gastronomic part of the festival doesn't end there! Photo: provided by the organizer Workshops The festival promises to be not only delicious but also educational! Both in the center and in the districts of Moscow, culinary, craft, and creative workshops will unfold. Guests will learn to make unusual pancakes from recipes of other nations, master the basics of weaving, pottery, work with wood, and create toys and Maslenitsa decorations for the home.
