El Sótano is a horror play based on the successful story by Koji Suzuki, author of The Ring. The play shows us the character of Ana Müler, a woman who, after separating from her husband and with very few resources, decides to rent an apartment on the outskirts of the city, accompanied by her little daughter Isa, arriving at an old building about to be demolished like a victim of the earthquakes that afflict the city. Upon entering, she meets Damián, the building's caretaker and apparently the only resident, Ana hears about the terrible conditions in which the building is, but due to her limited finances, she decides to stay, that is, in apartment one, as she fears heights and also considers it dangerous for her daughter. Damián tries to be friendly with Isa, but Ana tells him that the little girl has not spoken since her father left.
