El Sótano is a horror play based on the successful story by Koji Suzuki, author of The Ring. The play shows the character of Ana Müler, a woman who after separating from her husband and with very few resources, decides to rent an apartment on the outskirts of the city, accompanied by her little daughter Isa. They arrive at an old building about to be demolished, like a victim of the earthquakes that afflict the city. Upon entering, she meets Damián, the building's caretaker and apparently the only resident. Ana hears about the terrible conditions of the building, but due to her limited finances, she decides to stay, in apartment one, as she fears heights and considers it dangerous for her daughter. Damián tries to be friendly with Isa, but Ana tells him that the little girl hasn't spoken since her father left.
