A walk along Milyutinsky Lane is filled with unexpected encounters and stories about old Moscow. The walk begins in the courtyard of the Turgenev Library, after which participants will head down Milyutinsky Lane and hear almost detective stories. The route passes by a church where the elder was Doctor Gaaz and where Yanko Kupala got married. Participants will learn where the "Windows of ROSTA" "went out," why St. Louis holds a crown of thorns, what is written on one of the few surviving sundials in Moscow, and where to see a leveling mark. The guide will also tell how a royal stoker became a monopolist, what requirements were placed on female telephone operators when applying for jobs at MTS, and where young Pushkin first saw the tsar. Additionally, stories will be shared about an occult society that studied ways to prolong life and how OGPU employees described the property of the arrested Yagoda.
