The tour will take participants into the world of Soviet graphic design, revealing its origins, aesthetics, and key figures. During the tour, visitors will find themselves at the very center of the historical process of establishing the profession of graphic designer in the USSR. The exhibition covers more than half a century of visual culture and provides insight into how artists of the past transformed their craft to meet the demands of a new era. The tour is conducted by designer and researcher Dmitry Mordvintsev - one of the curators of the exhibition. His narrative will make the walk through the hall not only informative but also deeply personal. The focus is on the journey of Valery Akopov: from student works presented at the World Expo in Brussels in 1958 to complex government orders and participation in the design of the 1980 Olympics. Akopov developed over 200 pictograms used in the Games and also refined the famous emblem with the rings.
