About

In the house on Arbat, where Alexei Fyodorovich Losev lived for more than forty years, history is felt through objects: shelves of books, manuscripts, everyday items, traces of daily labor. A walk through the memorial exhibition will help connect the philosopher's biography with the turbulent 20th century - from the hopes of the Silver Age to the experience of life in the Soviet Union. At the center of the tour is Losev's personality and his philosophical ideas. You will learn why he is called the last philosopher of the Silver Age, how his name is connected to religious thought - from Vladimir Solovyov to Pavel Florensky, and why the theme of name-worship was so important to him. A special place is occupied by the history of secret monasticism - an example of how worldview turns into action. Museum guests will be able to examine the smallest details of the exhibition: marginal notes, bindings, old editions, traces of reading and work. The tour will be interesting for high school students and university students, as well as for anyone interested in history and philosophy. Ideas on where to go in Moscow are collected on our website.
