The alleys of Arbat, located behind the Garden Ring, hide many interesting buildings with a rich history. An experienced expert on Moscow will introduce the tourists to this colorful corner of the capital and show them stunning views from one of the city’s rooftops. Together with blogger and Moscow researcher Peter Posmakov, participants of the tour will explore beautiful places near Arbat and Smolensk Square. These almost unnoticed and less-trodden alleys will open a new perspective on the capital, while facts from the history, architecture, and life of the area will add vibrant colors to the walk. Tourists will see houses created by renowned architects, learn where and under what conditions famous figures of Soviet culture lived, visit locations that can be seen in films, and trace the changes in the region from the pre-revolutionary period to the end of the 20th century. Upon reaching Smolensk Embankment, participants will climb to the roof of a building in the Stalinist Empire style. Here, they will be greeted with mesmerizing landscapes and a meeting with a resident of the house, who will share their observations about the life in the area.
