About

What subjects were studied in gymnasiums, who taught Peter I, why Yauza became a center of science - participants of the excursion will learn about this and more. Once, on the banks of the Yauza, the foundations of Russian science and education were laid. Gymnasiums trained future engineers, doctors, military personnel, and writers. Today, guests have the opportunity to follow in their footsteps on a curator-led excursion dedicated to the history of education in Yauza Moscow. Participants will be presented with unique exhibits from private collections: aspid boards, graduation albums, household items of students and teachers. Each of them is not just a museum object, but a fragment of a larger story. The curator will tell how Peter I was educated, who founded the first theatrical and medical schools, what sciences were taught to future cartographers, and how many cadet corps were located in this area of Moscow. Special attention will be given to prominent figures associated with these places. Fyodor Dostoevsky, Pavel Fedotov, Ivan Zabelin, Pyotr Lebedev, Sergey Korolev, Andrei Tupolev, Boris Shaposhnikov, and other outstanding figures studied and taught here. The event will be interesting for anyone who wants to better understand how the education system developed in Russia. Schoolchildren, students, teachers, and simply curious citizens will find food for thought and reasons for reflection here. For other events in Moscow, check KudaGo.
