On a walk along the paths of one of the most visited cemeteries in the capital, the guide will introduce participants to interesting stories from the lives of the famous people buried here. Novodevichy Cemetery is one of the main necropolises in the country. Here, such prominent figures of Russian culture and history as Gogol, Chekhov, Shostakovich, and Khrushchev found their final resting place. The guide will lead participants along the main paths and hidden corners of the cemetery, show them amazing monuments and gravestones, and introduce them to the fates of the great people resting here. Participants will learn how the necropolis was erected, why there are graves of writers who died over a hundred years before its establishment in this Soviet cemetery, and what place in society one must occupy to be buried here after death. Tour participants will see a gravestone with a portrait created by Picasso himself, the grave of a person who died from a thorn of a rose, and a monument to Hitler's sworn enemy.
