About

In Moscow, there are houses that tell about their authors almost as accurately as letters and diaries. The excursion-lecture is dedicated to three architects from different eras and styles - Lev Kekushev, Konstantin Melnikov, and Mikhail Lopirevsky, the architect of A. F. Losev's house. The focus will be on their personal stories and the decisions they made when building for themselves. The route passes through the alleys of Arbat. Participants will see houses connected to the heroes of the meeting and will try to "read" their window rhythm, silhouette, layout, and relationship to the street. This perspective helps to understand that architecture is not a set of styles, but a way to speak about life, habits, family scenarios, and time. After the walking part, the conversation will continue in the Losev House. The lecture will gather impressions into a cohesive picture: how the fates of the three architects unfolded, what role their own houses played in their lives, and what commonalities can be found between their stories. The excursion-lecture will be conducted by Tatyana Barlas, a certified guide in Moscow and a candidate of psychological sciences. The event is suitable for those interested in the urban environment, the history of Moscow, architecture, and the biographies of people who changed the face of the city.
