Why are they called the main guardians of the Winter Palace, what function do they perform, and how many of them live within the museum's walls? Participants in the themed tour will learn the answers to these and other questions about their four-legged friends and discover fascinating facts from the history of the Hermitage. The guide will show the visitors popular exhibits of the museum and suggest finding images of cats and their close relatives on them. Children will also learn why these animals were revered in Ancient Egypt, how they helped Leningrad residents restore their usual way of life after the siege was lifted, and what is hidden in the palace courtyards.
