About

Kolomna is one of the most atmospheric districts of St. Petersburg, where bohemian stories, old factory quarters, and imperial architecture coexist side by side. During the tour, we will talk about life in Kolomna in different eras - from the bohemian environment with its affordable apartments, theaters, and creative public to the working-class quarters near the shipbuilding factories. Here, grand ducal mansions, a conservatory, a synagogue, naval barracks, and buildings of various religious communities coexist. Participants will learn where Alexander Blok walked, in which house Alexander Suvorov asked his son-in-law to stop composing poetry, and how the area became connected with the figure of Grigori Rasputin. The tour will be conducted by Anna Markovich, a graduate of Lev Lurie’s Guide School. Participants will be provided with radio guides and individual headphones.  Meeting point - Sadovaya St., 103. Registration is available on the website of the Lev Lurie House of Culture. What to see in St. Petersburg will be suggested by KUDAGO.
