This summer, for the 12th time, Roofevents opens the season of atmospheric concerts on the rooftops of Moscow - where the city sounds different, the air becomes warmer, and the evenings stretch until sunset and beyond. We are telling you about one of the summer venues - the roof of Novotel on Novoslobodskaya. It’s a rare state when there’s no need to rush. You go up, and Moscow with its noise, business, and hustle stays below. Only the light of the sunset, music, and the feeling that this evening is about you remain. Live music sounds close and soft. You can look at the sky, talk, be silent, hold hands, or just sit and listen. And at some point, time seems to slow down. The roof on Novoslobodskaya by Roofevents is an intimate space for 90 guests on the 18th floor with a panoramic view of the old center of Moscow and the lights of Moscow City. On the program - jazz on the roof, atmospheric concerts, intimate evenings, and live parties under the open sky of Moscow. There is no usual distance between the stage and the hall here: musicians are within arm's reach, creating the feeling that you are inside the concert. Photo: provided by the organizer Some evenings here are arranged like a long exhale: woven chairs, candles on the tables, garlands, soft light, and blankets - everything to allow you to simply stop. You take a seat, grab a drink, and the urban rhythm dissolves. The music plays softly and almost becomes part of the air. Other evenings are quite different: the music becomes livelier and more active, guests stand up, move, and sing along. Choral formats, parties with hits from the 2000s in live sound - here, it’s not just the stage that dances, but the whole roof. Vasily Danilovsky, founder of ROOFEVENTS: "On the roof of Novoslobodskaya, I often catch the moment when everything seems to freeze. The music plays, people are nearby, the city is in front of your eyes - but inside it becomes quiet. Someone closes their eyes for a few minutes, someone stops scrolling their phone and just looks at the light... And there’s no awkwardness in this - on the contrary, there’s a feeling that it’s how it should be. Here, a person has the space to be alone.
