In magical realism, the miracle does not break the usual order of things - it enters it almost imperceptibly. Rain can fall for years, ghosts converse with the living, a flying carpet becomes a part of daily life, and strangeness does not require explanations. This is the literary logic that participants of the book club "Literaturno" will delve into. At the center of the conversation is a genre that is often confused with fantasy, mysticism, or fairy tale prose. Participants will discuss the differences between Latin American, European, and Slavic traditions. The starting point will be landmark books of the 20th and 21st centuries: "One Hundred Years of Solitude" by Gabriel Garcia Marquez, "The Master and Margarita" by Mikhail Bulgakov, "Beloved" by Toni Morrison, "The Night Circus" by Erin Morgenstern, "The House in Which" by Mariam Petrosyan, and other works.
