This year, the festival has several reasons to celebrate: the 135th anniversary of Bulgakov's birth and the 60th anniversary since the magazine "Moscow" first published the first part of "The Master and Margarita." The museum, historical archive, cinema hall, and theater stage - the festival has taken the city seriously. Guests can expect a rich and diverse program: a concert, an immersive performance, a film screening, a walking tour from the "Evil Apartment" to Novodevichy Cemetery, a psychiatrist's lecture on the impostor syndrome in Bulgakov's characters, and a gastronomic collaboration in the house where the prototype of Professor Preobrazhensky lived. At the Bulgakov Museum, an exhibition has been prepared dedicated to how the novel "The Master and Margarita" was created - from early drafts of the late 1920s to the publication of the book after the writer's death. On the evening of May 15, there will be a musical immersive experience with texts by Bulgakov, Brodsky, and Pasternak, accompanied by the music of Mikael Tariverdiev. At the Central House of Writers, psychiatrist Natalia Bekhtereva and philologist Ivan Nazarov will discuss the cycle "Notes of a Young Doctor" and its characters, and then the Storytelling Theater will present a production based on the stories. At the October Cinema Center, Vladimir Bortko's "Heart of a Dog" will be screened, followed by a discussion of the film. On May 16 and 17, festival events will continue at the State Historical Museum. The program includes a conversation about Bulgakov's Moscow, its addresses, and the reflection of Soviet life in the writer's works.
