Learn more about dementia, gain practical caregiving and support tools, talk to experts, and meet people who are on the same journey. When an illness changes a loved one, the life of the entire family changes as well. Confusion, fatigue, guilt, and loneliness are familiar to many who have faced dementia. The "Opora" project was created as a safe space for relatives who need support and to understand that they are not alone. Participants will learn how the brain works in this condition, master practical communication and caregiving techniques, discover how to cope with emotional burnout, and receive guidance on where to seek help in the city. The program includes live communication, experience sharing, and meeting a community of people on the same path. Sharing their knowledge will be geriatrician and psychologist Lyudmila Ivanova, as well as physician and psychoanalyst, founder of the psychological center "Mirra" Svetlana Savelieva. This meeting is about tender care, support, and a conscious attitude towards loved ones - the first step towards making a difficult journey no longer solitary. Details can be found on the project's VKontakte page. For other events in St. Petersburg, check KUDAGO.
