The K. A. Timiryazev Library invites you to the lecture "My Tarkovsky! Part 2" - a continuation of the series about the great director who influenced world cinema. Andrei Tarkovsky is a director whose name has become a symbol of auteur cinema and philosophical exploration. His films still define the language of modern cinematography, and quotes and techniques can be found in the works of Inarritu, von Trier, Sokurov, and many other directors. The first part of the lecture focused on the formation of the master and his key early films - "Andrei Rublev" and "Solaris". The second part will serve as a logical conclusion to the discussion. The focus will be on "Mirror", a film that Tarkovsky himself called the most important in his life; "Stalker", which became one of his most complex and enigmatic works; as well as the late period of his creativity, associated with forced emigration. "Nostalgia" and "The Sacrifice" - films made abroad that became final for the director - will be examined in detail. The lecture will provide an opportunity not only to refresh knowledge about Tarkovsky's work but also to view his films in the context of personal trials and historical circumstances.
