About

After sold out events at The Deaf Institute already this year, the U.K's biggest indie party returns to Manchester again for an afternoon of non-stop indie bangers this September. Strictly over 30s only, this is one for the slightly older indie kids. Times: 3-7pm. We've hosted indie events in 17 other cities too. Brought to you by Old School Indie Feeling Gloomy (turning 20 this year) & Age Against The Machine, our DJs will be playing a mix of indie classics from across the decades so whether you were a 70s punk, 80s new waver, 90s britpopper or early 00s poser there'll be something for everyone. We've played indie at Glasto, Isle of Wight, Latitude, Green Man, Standon, Camp Bestival and even main stage at Knebworth (but probably not the year you are thinking of). The party will finish at 7pm so you can head down the pub to continue your night out or you could just go home and watch some Saturday night TV with a take away. There is a strict door policy of no under 30s, so please bring ID as you will be asked to show it. "A feast of floppy-fringed floor-fillers" - Time Out. Recommended as one of the U.K's top indie parties by BBC Radio 6. What to expect: The best in indie from: Bowie, Pulp, Clash, Jam, Cure, Joy Division, Stone Roses, Smiths, New Order, Strokes, Supergrass, Kinks, Franz Ferdinand, Nirvana, Ash, Rolling Stones, Who, Primal Scream, Killers, Sultans of Ping, Buzzcocks, Ramones, Specials, Blondie, Hole, Madness, La's, Weezer, Cardigans, Housemartins, Coral, Undertones, Inspiral Carpets, Bloc Party, Beatles, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Radiohead, Suede, Echo and The Bunnymen, Pixies plus the odd bit of rock n roll, soul, northern soul and ska!
