LaVere's storytelling and songwriting is barbed and sharp, a cutting contrast to her sweet soprano vocals and smooth, percussive upright bass playing. She has collaborated on recordings with many other artists across the Americana landscape. Notable collaborations include works with The Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Luther Dickinson, Todd Snider, Valerie June, Sea Sick Steve, and Johnny Dowd.
